The moment I knew that I wanted Jochen Zellmann to teach me about art was when a fellow student came up to him and stated that he had troubles with the concept of being creative as an artist. The whole concept was too voguish to him and he abhorred it. Then Jochen Zellman turned to him talking about being creative - in German "schöpfen". This word also means to scoop. Thus within a second Zellmann was describing an earth oven and how one has to scoop food out of it. The image of this pretty basic and elementary and basically necessary action continues to stay with me.
Association has become so important.
