Kuře
...it had been a hard day, but a good day, into a lot of hearts the seed of fable, conflict and katharsis had been lowered, the salt of wisdom and the juice of humour... -Jiří Šotola, Kuře na rožni

Barely
Once you have realized that the bare necessities are actually today's luxuries, for those bare necessities are hardly well provided for nowadays. There is only a shallow shadow left, like a surrogate of an afterthought.

Reprise
Within this universe of importance that anything and anybody can apparently claim, let's just be irrelevant for once.

Sometimes and Pretty Suddenly
I get deeply sad when thinking about the things we have lost in the fire, and yet who could stop his feet from moving even if it is just in your mind?!
Presto!

Your Funny Little Ways
like one can kneel and yet put his foot firmly on the ground, all at once.
We are a paradox lot.
Isn't just the fact that people can be manipulated a kind of indicator for a free will?!

Silly Me
So I entered the antiquarian bookstore with no high hopes because I had been looking for Basile's Pentamerone everywhere. I had called all the local antiquarians and had been suggested the Decameron or even the Heptaméron because nobody had heard of it, even doubts were uttered that such a book could exist. So I entered and neraly apologizing for my request, I started with the assumption that the two antiquarians present wouldn't have heard of the book. But as soon as I mentioned the name they knowingly smiled at each other: "We have two copies, one with a slipcase and the other one missing it."

Cherryred
after having sent a petitionary letter of sighs - Giambattista Basile, the Pentameron
"The chief of all, of course, is that miserable fear of being sentimental, which is the meanest of all the modern terrors - meaner even than the terror which produces hygiene...These creatures who wept like women were the creatures who laughed like men." Chesterton, Heretics

to broadcast something - employing a trombone / Posaune

Never Stop
wondering and some of these questions are pretty excellent ones to wonder about. E.G.: "Will my funeral be a carnival?" But then I probably would never know and I suppose I would not mind...
I also wonder if the lyrics are: "I wonder while in Tel Aviv, I wonder while in Prague" ? At least that's what I hear...

The Sweetest Token of Surprising Affection
I ever got was from a small girl I did not know nor have seen again afterwards. It was in a swimming pool and we took the time and the fun to simply play with her. At the end I suddenly felt this sweet and tender stealthy ephemeral kiss on my skin and she was gone before I could react.
One does not have to steal those kisses...

Elle Adore le Rouge
or that's what some people thought when they noticed me painting red all the time, and in fact not just this but a single hue, madder. On the contrary, I told them, I do not like red in particular, but this is just fine to me because I can do to it whatever I wish to do.
Over the years though I have come to really, really love it...

Häßliche Fratze
ugly hideous grimace
Some distortions seem beastly, yet any beast will turn away and address them as what they truly are - monstrous
And it is nothing anybody is born with, but the transformation is self-inflicted.

How To Tell
that things are getting worse!
The best indicator is probably that more and more people are losing their sense of humour, are becoming "tierisch ernst" (beastly serious). And John Cleese is probably right when he links this to the loss of a sense for proportion. If one has nothing to relate to, one cannot actually tell if something is out of proportion and exaggerated, which would make it funny and something to wholeheartedly laugh at, which does tend to make the issues smaller and manageable. Instead fear will let them grow abundantly.

Gratifying
If like in some fairy tale or in Shakespeare you are suddenly faced with the option to chose, what would you go for? What is your inmost wish, what would you have nuns pray for? there is one thing that to me is most important: meaning, to always be there, where and when I am necessary.

The Wild
Walking through this wonderful forest with its gnarly trees, suddenly confronted with semi-wild Highland cattle you remember that you were told to keep away from them at least twenty-five meters. But what if the cattle does not realize this and starts moving towards you?! It was a wonderful afternoon that ended with gigantic soap bubbles.

Exposed and Stripped
in order to get to or lay open the heart of the matter, for everybody to see, because it is necessary. It is demanding and exhausting indeed, but the artist will comply. Yet please give her or him time to rest, once the urgency diminishes.

Hoppla
It's always kind of harder to walk on your hands than your feet.
“Pride is the downward drag of all things into an easy solemnity. One "settles down" into a sort of selfish seriousness; but one has to rise to a gay self-forgetfulness... Seriousness is not a virtue. It would be a heresy, but a much more sensible heresy, to say that seriousness is a vice. It is really a natural trend or lapse into taking one's self gravely, because it is the easiest thing to do... For solemnity flows out of men naturally; but laughter is a leap. It is easy to be heavy: hard to be light.” - Chesterton, Orthodoxy

Benign Egoist
He took the most precious thing he owned, which is time, and instead of sacrificing it on the altar of the Moloch money, he simply spent it serving his master.
