Maybe, just maybe it's a fallacy to believe that the individual and community are opposites. Maybe in order for each and everybody to develop their full potential there should prevail a strong sense of community.

The emperor and the crooked dressmakers are colluding as he is absolutely shamelessly parading his obvious nakedness in the streets, while most of the crowd is cheering on turning against those who feel slightly appalled. Yet once the laughter and celebrations have died away everybody's got to realise that their clothes have been stolen as well.
So make yourself comfortable as this will last a long, long time.
