Irascibility





So what drives you mad? What makes you act with uncomprimising rashness? When I was in Venice the driver of a vaporetto wouldn't admit a mother and her infant child because the boat was too full. A male passenger did not agree and he spat on the driver's face. At this moment I couldn't stop myself imagening that if they had had knives - like probably not a century ago - at least one of them wouldn't have survived the situation.

Creation

It takes a master's hand to build up all the ingredients that would lead to a tragic ending and then to let them implode in truthful absurdity, while the actual tragedy has happened somewhere else and lent well deserved dignity to its protagonists.
